A lot of sun and wind guarantee for fresh, fruity white wines; the cooler northern part of the island produces full-bodied, velvety red wines, and the southern and west sides, rich dessert wines like Capichera and Turriga.
Well-known producers are frequently organised in cooperatives. This includes, inter alia, Santardi and Argiolas.
