This region between Aschaffenburg and Schweinfurt on the hillsides sloping southward along the river Main and its affluents on its 6,000 hectares of cultivation surfaces yields mostly dry white wines in Bocksbeutel bottles, a typical round-bodied bottle shape.
On the slopes primarily Müller-Thurgau is growing with its fragrant and flowery bouquet as well as Silvaner and Riesling; in recent years also red varieties like pinot noir, Dornfelder and Domina have been ever more likely to be found there.
The vineyards Fürst and am Stein enjoy cult status.
